Fishing is picking up considerably in the past 2 weeks, working on video I took from Exchange Club Island, of a school of fish eating, what might have been shrimp.
They went right by my kayak, so I decided to land and get some good still Video, and cast a time or two. That is when I caught the Flounder pictured below. Unfortunately both my catches were too small, I was hoping the porpoise I saw earlier in the morning up river would make it to the Island so I only brought one pole, was going for picture more. Hooking a little gulp shrimp on my spinner rig seemed to help, first time I have had any thing hit it. Get out and fish, still cool enough that your not roasting.

The water temp is warming and the mullet are really starting to jump. been seeing good pods of baitfish moving through as well.

Well the mullet and bait fish have really picked up in the past 2 weeks. Mullet were jumping continuously during the 2+ hour kayak trip down Little Pottsburg Creek Saturday evening. I did see what I thought were Reds striking here and there, under the Hart Bridge Expressway, and in the pond next to the expressway. Saw what I thought was an otter, although could have been a muskrat, crossing the creek right before the expressway. But I did not have my camera on my neck, by the time I got it out the critter was in the marsh grasses and out of sight. Not sure how this cold front will effect the fish coming in but the action is definitely picking up.
