This years One Spark will be the biggest ever, it is good to see this event continue to grow. As the city of Jacksonville seems to. The creativity of this town continues to impress me. The one thing I do love about Jacksonville is that they are continuously improving their roads. After living in Orlando/Kissimmee area and dealing with that traffic I laugh at the folks that complain around here. Going to Try and get pictures a couple of days of One Spark and will highlight Projects of interest.
Today I did a quick walk through, bit under the weather so was not feeling real social. I parked at the School Board Building, was going to take the Sky Way over the River, but walked out to the river walk and enjoyed the stroll. If you have not been on the river walk since it was rehabbed it is such a nice stroll now.
The newness of it was nice, hopefully it lasts. I remember as a high school kid walking the river walk with dates. If you are unsure of where to park would recommend parking at the school board building and taking the Sky Way over, then walk back at night and enjoy the walk.
And sober up, I went to this One Spark event and a Party broke out. I did not attend last year but wow the amount of food and drink vendors has to out number the amount of exhibits for funding this year. Instead of there being one main food and drink area they seem to be every where.
Hope this gives you some of the flavors that you can enjoy at One Spark. If your looking for some of the music scene this is some of what I got.
To see a video of a Zydeco band and to like us on Facebook.
If you get to hot search for the old Church off of Hemming Plaza, they keep it nice and cold in there.
Alright I was really not paying to much attention to the exhibitors on this day, going to spend Friday with my fiance down there so sure more to come but these got my attention.
Our Sky Way system now being free gets the use it should during events like this in our city.
One Spark Jacksonville in 2018
My how things have changed with One Spark in Jacksonville 2018, the “crowd source” funding entrepreneur/innovator festival/event felt like a bleaching of the event, that in past years was held in the Jacksonville Downtown Core and had more of a street festival that included several city blocks and venues.
The last One Spark I attended, I actually went 2 days and spent several hours enjoying differing art and street acts and performers.
This year after 2 hours I was ready to leave and go get some good food and drink that was not overpriced stadium food and drink.
OneSpark 2018 Tesla on site so you can sit in a car that costs more than most peoples homes
These are some of the creators we spoke with, all with great ideas.
I encourage you to take a look at this Jacksonville startup/app Worthy invest simply and easily. They have been up and running for a while now.
